How to Teach Your Dog to Kiss is the favorite trick of many dog owners.
Who doesn’t want a KISS from their favorite furry friend? Both you and your dog will love this trick.
This is one of the easy tricks to teach your dog. It’s simple for the beginning trainer and the dog.
Put something sticky and tasty on your cheek or wherever you would you like your dog to kiss you. Some people use peanut butter.
This step is the setup. The tasty stuff on your cheek will have your dog licking you in no time at all.
Say “KISS” and encourage your dog to lick the tasty sticky stuff on your cheek. PRAISE and REWARD your dog when they do.
There are two goals this step.
First, you want your dog to associate the verbal “KISS” command with the act of licking your cheek.
Next, you are giving positive reinforcement to this action with a verbal praise of Good Girl, Good Boy and a treat for reward. Only give this praise and reward when they do it right.
Once your dog is familiar with step 2, just say, “KISS” and lean over to them so they can kiss your cheek – even without tasty stuff there. PRAISE and REWARD them when they do it.
In this step, you want your dog to “kiss” you by licking your cheek with just the kiss command. After all, you don’t want to walk around with peanut butter on your cheek forever.
